We are thrilled to announce that Scrn has been nominated for a Webby Award by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, for the 60th anniversary website of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Webby’s are widely considered to be “the Oscars of the internet”.
The website, which we produced together with our friends from Elespacio for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), was nominated in the category Event Websites, along with the MTV VMAs, Vanity Fair, Moogfest and Coachella. The winner will be decided by public vote. Voting is possible until the 22nd of April via the website of the Webby Awards. Other categories include nominees like One Direction, talkshow host Ellen, Mashable, CNN, The Guardian and NASA.
Last year, the famous TED conference won the award in the Event Websites category.
In the lead-up to the 60th Eurovision Song Contest, the EBU decided to commission the creation of an online experience to celebrate the contest’s rich legacy. The website brings together stories, photos, videos and statistics.
